Ricky Nolasco returned to top form with six sharp innings and Giancarlo Stanton returned from the World Baseball Classic to help the Miami Marlins beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-0 on Sunday.

The Marlins likely opening day starter gave up seven runs on eight hits in three innings Tuesday against Houston. He was back on track Sunday, striking out five and scattering six hits. He did not walk a batter.

Stanton was back in the lineup after the United States was eliminated in the WBC. Batting third, the Marlins' star right fielder doubled, singled and walked in four plate appearances.

St. Louis starter Lance Lynn was ineffective for 3 2-3 innings, giving up nine hits and five runs.
