Normally, when a player hits a home run late in the game to tie things up or put his team ahead, fans ask for a curtain call.
The folks in the ballpark will also request a curtain call if a player just reached a milestone with a dinger.
For Cubs infielder Jonathan Herrera, neither of these things were in play Sunday when he went deep, but, apparently out of the goodness of his heart, he gave the fans a curtain call, anyway.
With the Cubs leading the Diamondbacks 5-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Herrera hit a solo shot, his second homer of the season.
It was as a unnewsworthy as a home run could be.
However, thanks to what looked like a slight prod by first baseman Anthony Rizzo, Herrera decided to grace the crowd with his presence and came out to tip his cap, which led to many laughs in the Cubs dugout.
We can't wait to see what Herrera will do if he hits a game-tying jack in the bottom of the eighth inning one day.
