No. 18 Michigan drops Penn State

Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 26 points, Trey Burke 53, on Thursday night in the Big Ten opener for both teams.

Evan Smotrycz added 10 points for the Wolverines (11-2, 1-0 Big Ten), who have won six in a row.

Tim Frazier scored 20 points to lead Penn State (8-6, 0-1) and Jermaine Marshall had nine. The Nittany Lions had a two-game winning streak snapped.
