Washington Nationals second baseman Danny Espinosa has a broken bone in his right wrist, though the team has no intentions of sending him to the disabled list.

Espinosa originally injured the wrist on April 14, after he was plunked by Braves left-hander Paul Maholm, but did not report any discomfort until the team was in San Francisco from May 20-22 for a three-game set. He traveled to Baltimore Friday, where X-rays determined the break.

The Nationals don't have plans to send the veteran infielder to the DL and are hoping that rest will help the injury.

Espinosa, who also is dealing with a torn right rotator cuff, is hitting just .163 this season with three homers and 12 runs batted in.
