Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Nationals activated outfielder Jayson Werth from the 15-day disabled list prior to Monday's game against the Boston Red Sox.

Werth missed the first six games of the season recovering from offseason surgery on the AC joint in his right shoulder.

He batted .292 with 16 home runs and 82 RBI in 147 games for the Nationals last season.

The Nationals optioned outfielder Matt den Dekker to Triple-A Syracuse to clear room on the roster for Werth.
