Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Haruka Morita-Wanyaolu birdied the second playoff hole Saturday to defeat Augusta James and win the Symetra Classic.

Morita-Wanyaolu and James shared second place entering the final round and both closed with 5-under 67s to end at 12-under-par 204.

They returned to the 18th for the extra session. Both made par the first time around, and the second time they played the 18th, Morita-Wanyaolu holed a birdie effort for her first Symetra Tour win.

Morita-Wanyaolu birdied three in a row from the second. She bogeyed the eighth to dip to minus-9, but got that back with a birdie on the 12th. Birdies 15 and 16 moved Morita-Wanyaolu to 12-under before she parred 17 and 18.

James, who won earlier this year, ran off three straight from the first. Like, Morita-Wanyaolu, James also bogeyed No. 8. Birdies at 11 and 15 moved James to 11-under. She birdied the 18th to force the playoff.

Rachel Rohanna also closed with a 67 to take third at minus-11. Lindy Duncan (68) grabbed fourth at 9-under 207. Second-round leader Haley Italia stumbled to a 1-over 73 to slide into a share of seventh at 7-under 209.
