Ameer Ali scored 14 points and Aric Brooks added 13 as Morgan State defeated Bethune-Cookman 65-57 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game on Monday night.

DeWayne Jackson contributed 11 points as the Bears (11-10, 7-3) shot 58.3 percent from the field (21 of 36), in snapping a three-game losing skid.

C.J. Reed, the league's leading scorer, paced Bethune-Cookman (13-11, 7-3) with 20 points before fouling out with 7:08 left and the Wildcats down 54-43.

Leading by seven at halftime, the Bears started the second half with an 11-4 run, with Kevin Thompson and Justin Black leading the way. That spurt produced the Bears' largest lead of the game, 14 points, 48-34, with 13:11 to play.

Bethune-Cookman, which shot 35.6 percent from the field (16 of 45), cut the margin to six, 61-55, on Kevin Dukes' 3-pointer with 1:39 to go. But the Wildcats wouldn't get any closer.
