The eighth-seeded Monaco cruised past Frenchman Benoit Paire 6-4, 6-2, while Carreno Busta of Spain beat French teenager Maxime Hamou 6-2, 6-2.
Latvian Ernests Gulbis beat Argentine Federico Delbonis in last year's final.
