Jared Mintz scored 21 points and Jim Mower got all 17 of his points in the second half as Lafayette defeated Colgate 75-64 in a Patriot League game on Wednesday night.

The Leopards (6-11, 1-1), ahead 32-28 at halftime, scored the first 11 points after the break, eight by Mower, to take a 43-28 lead just 2:35 into the second half.

The Raiders (1-14, 0-2) got no closer than nine points the rest of the way.

Mintz had 14 points for Lafayette in the first half as the senior foward became the 36th Lafayette player to surpass 1,000 career points. He now has 1,013.

Darion Benbow added 15 points and Tony Johnson 10 for the Leopards.

Yaw Gyawu scored 18 points to lead Colgate and Sterling Melville had a career-best 13. Junior guard Mike Venezia, who missed Colgate's previous eight games due to injury, returned and scored three points in 13 minutes.
