Kerry Hammonds scored 28 points off the bench to lead Middle Tennessee over South Alabama 85-62 on Saturday.

Hammonds was 9 of 10 from the field, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range in 28 minutes to lead three Blue Raiders in double figures.

James Washington added 13 points and seven assists, and Jason Jones had 11 points for Middle Tennessee (12-12, 7-4 Sun Belt Conference), which has had at least two players reach double figures in 22 games this season.

Middle Tennessee was 9 of 17 from behind the arc, and shot 66.7 percent in the second half (14 of 21), while holding the Jaguars to 7-of-22 shooting after halftime.

The Blue Raiders, who won for the fifth time in their last six games, scored 25 points off 19 South Alabama turnovers.

Augustine Rubit led South Alabama (10-12, 4-7) with 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting. He also had 13 rebounds.
