Mets put Bay on DL

The New York Mets have placed outfielder Jason Bay on the 15-day disabled list with a nondisplaced fracture of a rib on the left side.

An MRI taken Tuesday morning revealed the injury.

Bay is hitting .240 with three home runs and five RBI in 15 games this season.

The Mets recalled infielder Zach Lutz from Triple-A Buffalo. He was batting .333 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 19 games for the Bisons this year.
