Mets P Familia to undergo surgery

Flushing, NY – New York Mets pitcher Jeurys Familia will undergo right elbow surgery on Wednesday to remove bone spurs and loose bodies, the team has announced.

Familia, 23, was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 12th.

He appeared in eight games for the Mets this year, posting a 3.48 ERA over 10 1/3 innings with one save.
