Krasnaya Polyana, Russia (SportsNetwork.com) - Heather McPhie will join U.S. teammate Hannah Kearney in the finals of the women's moguls competition at the Sochi Olympics.
McPhie was one of 10 skiers to make it through the second round of qualifying Saturday, posting the sixth-best score.
Kearney, the reigning Olympic champion, had the top qualifying score Thursday to move directly into Saturday's three-round, knockout-style final. She is trying to become the first freestyle skier to win multiple gold medals.
Canadian sisters Chloe, Justine and Maxime Dufour-Lapointe also qualified for the final on Thursday, along with American Eliza Outtrim and Canadian Audrey Robichaud.
Another American, Heidi Kloser, was considered a medal contender but injured her knee in a fall during a training run and was forced to pull out of the Olympics.
Russia's Ekaterina Stolyarova had the top qualifying score Saturday with 21.32 points. McPhie, skiing first, earned 18.85 points.
