Nate McCoy managed a 1-under 71 on Saturday to keep his lead after 54 holes of the Syncrude Boreal Open.

McCoy finished three rounds at 13-under-par 203. The Canadian Tour rookie will go for his first tour win on Sunday.

Matt Hill, the 2009 NCAA Individual champion, fired his second straight 6- under 66 to jump into second place at minus-12.

Roger Sloan, who won The Western Championship last year, carded a 3-under 69 and finished three rounds alone in third at 10-under-par 206.

Tyler Aldridge (67) and Sebastian Saavedra (67) share fourth place at 9-under- par 207 at Fort McMurray Golf Club.

McCoy, who led after the first two rounds, birdied the third. He stumbled to a double-bogey on the par-5 fifth to slip to minus-11.

As he parred his next six holes, McCoy dropped into a share of the lead with Hill. However, McCoy got those strokes back with birdies at 12 and 14. He parred out, but saw his advantage go down to one after he was three clear entering the third round.

Hill birdied the third and sixth to get his round going. He poured in three birdies in a 4-hole span from the eighth. Hill birdied the par-3 15th to get to 11-under, and he ended there after parring his last three holes.

NOTES: Defending champion Danny Sahl struggled to a 5-over 77 to slide into a tie for 59th at plus-3...Players will go out in threesomes off the first and 10th tees in the final round with the final group slated for 11:40 a.m. (et).
