(SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Marlins aim to stay hot on their current homestand and will start a three-game series versus the NL East-rival Philadelphia Phillies Friday night.

The Marlins are 5-1 on a nine-game stay in south Florida and took two of three meetings with the New York Mets, including Wednesday's 7-3 triumph in the series finale. Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI, and Ichiro Suzuki belted a three-run homer.

"Hitting the home run, I was very happy about," Suzuki said through a translator. "But I was happier because my teammates were there, and they were happy. To me, that was way bigger than actually hitting the home run."

Stanton has six homers and 14 RBI over his past 13 games, while Dee Gordon is batting .583 (14-of-24) during a six-game hitting streak. Gordon has 38 hits this season, two shy of a Marlins' record for April set by Mike Lowell in 2002

Mat Latos started for Miami and did not figure into the decision, charged with three runs in five innings. Sam Dyson tossed two scoreless innings of relief for the Marlins, winners in seven of the last eight games.

Tom Koehler will take the ball for the Marlins Friday and is 2-2 with a 4.50 earned run average in four starts. He delivered 7 1/3 shutout innings in an 8-0 victory over Washington on Saturday.

Koehler has faced the Phillies seven times (5 starts) in his career and is 2-1 with a 4.13 ERA.

The Phillies lost three of four games to the St. Louis Cardinals to begin a 10-game road trip and were dealt a 9-3 loss in Thursday's series finale.

David Buchanan continued his struggles on the mound and fell to 0-5 on the season after giving up seven runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings.

"I want my team to win a game that I pitch in," Buchanan said. "Not for my record. I just want my team to win when I pitch. I don't care how it happens. I want my team to be comfortable when I take the mound."

Darin Ruf homered and both Odubel Herrera and Cody Asche knocked in runs.

Philadelphia has lost three in a row and six of nine games. It will also visit the Atlanta Braves on the sojourn.

Jerome Williams gets the call for the Phils Friday and is 2-1 with a 3.80 earned run average in four starts. Williams looks for his third straight winning start and threw 6 2/3 innings of three-run ball in a 5-4 win over the Braves on Sunday.

Williams has lasted at least five innings in every appearance this season and is 4-4 with a 5.06 ERA in 10 career meetings (9 starts) with the Marlins.

The Phillies lost two of three games versus the Marlins last week at Citizens Bank Park. Miami has won five of the last seven encounters with Philadelphia.
