The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Franklin Gutierrez on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion on Friday and recalled pitcher Steve Delabar from Triple-A Tacoma.

Gutierrez left Thursday's 1-0 victory over the visiting Boston Red Sox in the fourth inning after being hit in the side of the head by an errant pick off attempt from Boston starter Franklin Morales.

The 29-year-old was hitting .267 with two home runs and nine RBI in 13 games since being activated from the DL on June 13.

Delabar is entering his third stint with Seattle this season and holds a 1-1 record with a 4.78 earned run average and 34 strikeouts in 27 appearances.
