Santiago Luna shot 1-under-par 71 on Sunday to win the Scottish Senior Open by a single stroke.

Luna finished 54 holes at Fairmount St. Andrews at 5-under-par 211 for his first European Senior Tour victory.

Former Ryder Cup Captain Sam Torrance carded a 70 and finished in a tie for second place with Irishman Denis O'Sullivan (72) at 4-under. O'Sullivan was looking to become the second-oldest winner in tour history.

Overnight leader Peter Fowler (74), Philip Golding (70), Peter Mitchell (73) and shared fourth at 3-under, while Miguel Angel Martin (73) took solo seventh at minus-2.

Luna, who downed Tiger Woods in the semifinal of the 1998 Alfred Dunhill Cup at St. Andrews, opened the final round with a bogey, but he steadied himself, closing his outward nine with eight straight pars.

Around the turn, Luna birdied two of his first three holes to reach 5-under. He played the rest of his round at even-par, notching a birdie, four pars and a bogey to secure the win.
