Allen Park, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Lions re-signed cornerback Rashean Mathis to a two-year contract on Thursday.

Mathis started all 16 games in 2014, recording 51 tackles, nine pass defenses, one forced fumble and one interception.

Prior to joining the Lions two years ago, Mathis spent the first 10 seasons of his career (2003-12) as the face of the Jacksonville Jaguars secondary, where he was named to the Pro Bowl in 2007 and an alternate in 2006.

Entering his 13th season, Mathis has started 158-of-168 career games and has recorded 606 tackles, one sack, 31 interceptions and four touchdowns.
