Commerce City, CO – Laurent Courtois made the most of his 31 2 draw with the Colorado Rapids.
After a goal from Caleb Folan gave the Rapids the lead, Juan Pablo Angel scored in the 36th minute in his debut for Chivas after being acquired in a trade by the club from the Los Angeles Galaxy this past week.
But it looked like a goal from Colorado's Jeff Larentowicz 20 minutes from time would be the difference, until Courtois popped up to score with four minutes remaining, giving Chivas five points from its last three games, all of which have come on the road.
The Rapids had beaten Chivas in each of their last four meetings, but the result still allows the club to extend its unbeaten streak to six games.
Kosuke Kimura's cross in the 11th minute was headed just wide by Folan, but he was given another chance a few minutes later by Pablo Mastroeni, and he didn't squander this chance.
Angel then made a good impression in his Goats debut by latching on to a Nick LaBrocca through ball to fire a shot past Rapids goalkeeper Matt Pickens.
LaBrocca went close with an effort from outside the area as Chivas attempted to go in front, but it was the home side that took the lead 20 minutes from time as Sanna Nyassi's corner kick was headed past Dan Kennedy by Larentowicz.
As the game entered the final five minutes, Chivas committed men forward in an effort to equalize, and the club got its reward with Michael Lahoud's pass leading Courtois into the box and toward goal, where he poked the ball past Pickens to grab a share of the spoils.
