NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Knicks guard Nate Robinson has been fined $25,000 by the NBA after his agent requested a trade.

Robinson, who is not currently in the Knicks starting line-up, was fined for "public statements detrimental to the NBA" that related to a trade and were made by his agent, Aaron Goodwin, on December 19, the league said in a statement.

NBA rules forbid players from making trade demands in public.
