Seventh seed Martin Klizan was an easy first-round winner Monday at the Croatia Open tennis event.

The Slovakian Klizan brushed aside Slovenian wild card Aljaz Bedene 6-2, 6-2 on the red clay at ATP Stadium.

Additionally, Russian wild card Andrey Kuznetsov defeated Spaniard Daniel Munoz-De La Nava 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (7-5) and German Matthias Bachinger edged out Portuguese Joao Sousa 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 7-6 (8-6).

The top seeds here are Spanish lefthander Fernando Verdasco, the 2008 Umag champion, and Croat Marin Cilic, who was last year's runner-up here to Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov.
