A person familiar with the decision tells The Associated Press that Kentucky offensive coordinator Neal Brown has accepted an offer to become the head coach at Troy.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal was still being finalized. The school is expected to make an announcement Monday.

Brown will replace the retiring Larry Blakeney, whom he worked under as an assistant for four years (2006-2009). Brown was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Troy his last two years on staff.

The 34-year-old Brown spent three seasons as offensive coordinator at Texas Tech before moving to Kentucky with head coach Mark Stoops in 2013.
