Kendall Anthony scored 22 points and Richmond shot 61.2 percent from the floor to beat High Point 80-56 on Saturday.

Anthony shot 8 of 10 from the field and made four 3-pointers after scoring 18 of his points in the first half. Alonzo Nelson-Ododa added 13 points, T.J. Cline finished with 11 and ShawnDre' Jones chipped in 10 for the Spiders (2-1).

The Panthers (3-1) were held to 22-percent shooting at the half and trailed 45-21. After the break Lorenzo Cugini hit two 3-pointers, and Brian Richardson made another, to help High Point cut the difference to 18 with 16:17 left to play, but the Panthers could get no closer.

Richardson led High Point with 13 points and John Brown added 12. The Panthers matched Richmond with 35 points in the second half, and finished at 45-percent shooting, but could not overcome the first-half deficit.
