Washington, DC – Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp left Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals early.
Kemp appeared to roll his ankle on a play at the plate in the ninth inning of the Dodgers' 9-2 victory.
Carl Crawford hit a ground ball to first base. After first baseman Chad Tracy realized he could not get Crawford out at first, he noticed Kemp jogging down the third-base line. Tracy threw home and got the force play and Kemp, who attempted to make up for his jogging, stepped awkwardly into catcher Kurt Suzuki.
The 28-year-old outfielder was activated from the 15-day disabled list earlier Sunday after missing 11 games with a shoulder injury. Before leaving the game, Kemp was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and three RBI.
On the season, Kemp is hitting .263 with five home runs and 27 RBI in 62 games. He also missed 24 games earlier this season with a right hamstring strain.
