New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Pop superstar Katy Perry will perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLIX at University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona on February 1, 2015.
The NFL and Perry confirmed the announcement on Monday.
Perry has become one of the world's most popular entertainers since her debut album One of the Boys was released in 2008. Featuring songs "I Kissed A Girl" and "Hot N Cold," Perry shot to the top of the charts.
Her album "Teenage Dream" in 2010 made her the only female artist to have five No. 1 singles from one album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and she is the first artist to surpass the 75 million digital award threshold, which counts digital downloads and on-demand streams.
Bruno Mars headlined the most recent Super Bowl, while past performances included Beyonce, Madonna, The Black Eyed Peas and The Who.
