Internacional has confirmed the signing of Brazilian defender Juan on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old agreed to terminate his contract with Serie A side Roma and has signed a two-year deal with Internacional with an option to extend it for another year.

Juan spent five seasons with Bayer Leverkusen before joining Roma in 2007 and going on to make 144 appearances for the club.

In addition to his exploits on the club level, Juan has been capped 75 times by Brazil and joins Uruguay striker Diego Forlan as players who have swapped Serie A for Internacional this summer.
