The film "Concussion" is creating quite a stir in the NFL community.

Will Smith plays Dr. Dr. Bennet Omalu, who "uncovers the truth about brain damage in football players who suffer repeated concussions," according to the movie's IMDB page. Head injuries are under a lot more scrutiny than they were just a few short years ago, so many of the league's members plan to go see the movie after it debuts in theaters on Christmas Day.

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell is one who plans to watch, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Scientific discovery has finally caught up to the collision-based sport, and it appears as though the entertainment industry is not far behind. The concern about concussions has become widespread, as evidenced by the conversation started by this new movie.

It remains to be seen what type of impact "Concussion" will have on Caldwell and others who go see it.
