The New York Jets signed veteran quarterback David Garrard, the team announced on Monday via Twitter.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Garrard, 35, last saw game action with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010, playing in 14 contests and throwing for 2,734 yards and 23 touchdowns.

He earned a spot on the Pro Bowl roster following the 2009 season, though the Jags cut Garrard shortly before the 2011 campaign. The nine-year signal-caller has thrown for 16,003 yards, 89 touchdowns and 54 interceptions over 86 career games -- 76 of which have been starts.

The East Carolina product spent time with the Miami Dolphins last season but underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee and was later released by the team during preseason camp.
