The Winnipeg Jets signed goaltender Al Montoya on Wednesday.

As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The 27-year-old netminder spent the last two years with the New York Islanders. Last season, Montoya posted a record of 9-11-5 with a 3.10 goals against average and a .893 save percentage in 31 games.

The Chicago-native went 9-5-5 with the Islanders in 2010-11, bursting onto the scene with a 2.39 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

Montoya was the sixth overall pick in the 2004 NHL Draft and has a 21-17-10 career record with a 2.76 GAA and a .906 save percentage in three seasons with the Coyotes and Islanders.
