Florham Park, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Jets placed linebacker Antwan Barnes on season-ending injured reserve on Wednesday.

Barnes exited Monday's 30-28 win over Atlanta in the fourth quarter with a knee injury and did not return.

The 28-year-old veteran, who signed with New York in the offseason, recorded three tackles and two sacks over the Jets' first five games of the season.

To replace Barnes on the roster, New York re-signed linebacker Ricky Sapp.

Sapp has spent parts of the last three seasons with the Jets and appeared in two games this year before being released by New York on Saturday.

The Jets also signed defensive tackle Terence Barnes to the practice squad and released defensive tackle Junior Aumavae from the practice squad.
