Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - The Utah Jazz announced on Monday that rookie point guard Trey Burke will undergo surgery to repair a fractured right index finger.

The procedure will be performed on Tuesday in Salt Lake City by Dr. Douglas Hutchinson. A timetable for his recovery will be determined after the surgery.

Burke injured his finger during a preseason game against the LA Clippers. He got his hand tangled with Clippers' all-star Chris Paul in the first quarter and did not return.

The Michigan product was drafted ninth by Minnesota and traded to Utah on draft night.
