TOKYO (Reuters) - Lotte Marines' shortstop Tsuyoshi Nishioka is poised to move to Major League Baseball (MLB) via the posting system, the Japan Series champions said on Wednesday.

MLB teams will have four business days to enter a bid for exclusive negotiating rights for the 26-year-old All-Star, then 30 days to agree terms for a transfer.

Nishioka led Japan's Pacific League (PL) with a .346 batting average and 206 hits this season, becoming the first player since Ichiro Suzuki in 1994 to chalk up 200 PL hits.

Lotte management has already said it plans to accept the highest MLB bid regardless of the sum.
