Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jacksonville Jaguars center Brad Meester has decided to retire at the conclusion of the season.
Meester has spent each of his 14 NFL seasons with the Jaguars, who made him a second-round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft.
"It's been a tough decision for me because this is something that I love doing, I've done this for a long time and I truly love doing this," Meester was quoted as saying on the Jaguars' website. "The more and more I thought about it, the more I know that it's time. I'm looking forward to that next chapter of my life and being able to spend some time with my family. I'm going to make these my last two games and retire at the end of the season here."
Meester is the longest-tenured player in Jaguars history. He is the only player to have played for each of Jacksonville's head coaches -- Tom Coughlin, Jack Del Rio, Mike Mularkey and Gus Bradley.
The Northern Iowa product has appeared in a franchise-record 207 games heading into this Sunday's contest against Tennessee.
