Undra Mitchem scored 13 points and Jamal Hunter 10 as Jacksonville State defeated Alcorn State 63-52 on Wednesday night.

Alcorn State cut a 20-point second-half deficit to 10 points, 42-32, with 8:51 left via a 13-3 run over 5:47. However, the Braves weren't able to cut the lead to single digits until LeAntwan Luckett's 3-pointer with 4 seconds left.

The Gamecocks were trailing 6-4 in the first half when they went on an 18-2 run over 5:55 that left them up 22-8. D.J. Felder fueled the run with six points. Jacksonville State led 28-15 at halftime.

Luckett led Alcorn State with 17 points with Shaunessy Smith adding 12. The Braves shot only 29.2 percent and were hurt by 15 turnovers that led to 16 JSU points.

Jacksonville State (4-7) now has a 5-1 series lead. Alcorn State (3-6) lost its fifth consecutive game after getting a 3-1 start.
