New York Islanders forward P.A. Parenteau was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Winnipeg Jets with a left leg injury.

Early in the second period, Parenteau received a pass in the slot for a short breakaway before Jets defenseman Mark Stuart dove at him from behind.

Parenteau's left leg then got twisted underneath Stuart when the two players collided and he had to be helped off the ice as he could not put any pressure on the leg.

The 28-year-old winger has 18 goals and a team-high 49 assists through 80 games for the Islanders this season.
