With no mistakes and two great escapes, Shane Lowry of Ireland won the Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday for the biggest victory of his career.

Starting the final round at Firestone two shots behind, Lowry played bogey-free for a 4-under 66 to pull away from Jim Furyk and Justin Rose and hold them off during a tough back nine.

Lowry was in trouble left of the 10th fairway when he hoisted a wedge over the trees to 2 feet for birdie. With a one-shot lead on the final hole and in trouble left of the 18th fairway, he again went over the trees to just over 10 feet. He made the birdie putt and delivered another fist pump in a final round filled with them.
