The Cleveland Indians recalled pitchers Trevor Bauer and Carlos Carrasco from Triple-A Columbus and named them the starters for Friday's doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox.

Bauer will start Game 1 of the twin bill, while Carrasco, the team's 26th man, will get the nod in the nightcap.

Bauer, the third overall pick in the 2011 draft, has started three games for the Tribe this season, going 1-2 with a 2.76 earned run average.

The 22-year-old right-hander's last start with the Tribe came on May 13, when he gave up three runs -- two earned -- over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the New York Yankees.

Carrasco has struggled in four starts with Cleveland this year, posting an 0-3 record and a 7.78 ERA while giving up 27 hits over 19 2/3 innings.

To make room on the roster, the Indians optioned pitcher Nick Hagadone to Columbus. Over 27 appearances this season, Hagadone has gone 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA.
