Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Indians activated rookie day disabled list on Tuesday.
Kipnis, 24, has been out with a right hamstring strain and oblique soreness since August 12.
He's hitting .279 with six home runs and 11 RBI in 18 games for Cleveland this season.
The Indians also claimed pitcher Jason Rice off waivers from the Oakland Athletics and recalled second baseman Luis Valbuena from Triple-A Columbus.
