The Cleveland Indians added pitcher Esmil Rogers to the roster Wednesday and optioned infielder/outfielder Matt LaPorta to Triple-A Columbus.

Rogers was acquired from Colorado on Tuesday for cash after going 0-2 with an 8.06 ERA in 23 appearances for the Rockies.

The right-hander is 8-11 in his career with a 6.77 ERA in 70 games, including 22 starts.

LaPorta went 2-for-11 with a run scored in three games for the Indians, who are in Cincinnati for a three-game series.
