INDIANAPOLIS – The Colts finally delivered a dominant defensive performance.
Now, they've got to show that they can do it week after week.
Their next test comes Sunday against winless Jacksonville, whose offense is averaging 230.3 yards per game, 2.3 yards per carry and one touchdown pass. All are league lows.
Indianapolis (2-1) is ignoring the numbers as it works toward duplicating its surprising performance in San Francisco. The secondary locked up Colin Kaepernick's receivers, the running game was shut down after San Francisco's only scoring series and the Colts had a pass rush and forced turnovers.
That's the way coach Chuck Pagano drew it up.
