Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey watched Monday's afternoon practice from the side of the field.

The team says they don't believe his sprained left knee will keep him out long, though they have not put a time on his return.

Heyward-Bey was not on crutches and did not need help getting around. Afterward, team spokesman Avis Roper said the knee injury was "not serious," reiterating a point made earlier by coaches and teammates.

The former first-round draft pick was injured during Sunday's workout. He went to the training tent for treatment and watched the end of practice with ice on the knee. Heyward-Bey signed as a free agent in April, hoping he could be one of Indy's top three receivers.
