Justin Hurtt drained a 16-foot jumper with 6.8 seconds left to lift Tulsa to a 69-68 victory over UTEP on Saturday night.

Hurtt finished with 18 points, 15 of those in the second half, and made the final shot over a leaping Randy Culpepper, who led UTEP with 28 points.

Jordan Clarkson had 14 points and D.J. Magley added 10 for Tulsa (11-10, 4-3 Conference USA). UTEP (17-5, 5-2) got 19 points from Chris Polk, including a 3-pointer that tied the game at 65 with 1:21 to play.

A twisting layup by Hurtt gave Tulsa a 67-65 lead with 54 seconds left, but Culpepper knocked in a 3-pointer from the left corner over Hurtt with 24.4 seconds left to give the Miners a 68-67 lead.
