New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Carolina Hurricanes left wing Jeff Skinner was recognized Monday as the NHL's top performer for the week ending Jan. 5.

Skinner paced all skaters with six goals and nine points over the previous seven days.

St. Louis goaltender Brian Elliott earned the Second Star after posting a 1.00 goals-against average and a .962 save percentage while backstopping the Blues to three wins.

The Third Star went to Minnesota's Ryan Suter after he led all defenseman with four goals and tied for first among rearguards with six points.
