Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Hurricanes have placed forward Andrej Nestrasil on injured reserve because of an upper body injury.
Nestrasil last played on Dec. 8 against New Jersey and has one goal with two assists in eight games this season.
The Hurricanes recalled forward Justin Shugg from their American Hockey League affiliate in Charlotte.
Shugg, a fourth-round pick in the 2010 draft, has not played an NHL game. He leads Charlotte with nine goals in 17 games this season.
