Sam Hornish Jr. will start on the pole for Sunday's STP 300 Nationwide Series race after posting the quickest lap in qualifying at Chicagoland Speedway.

Hornish turned a lap at 178.341 mph for his second career pole in Nationwide. His maiden pole in the series came in August 2012 at Watkins Glen, N.Y.

Elliott Sadler, who won at Chicagoland one year ago, earned the outside pole with a lap at 178.265 mph. Austin Dillon qualified third, followed by Matt Crafton and Travis Pastrana.

Regan Smith, the current points leader, will start 13th. Smith holds just a five-point advantage over Hornish.
