Tony Hicks had 18 points and Darien Nelson-Henry added 16 with nine rebounds as Pennsylvania held on to defeat Binghamton 79-70 on Saturday.

Penn jumped out to an early lead and was ahead 40-34 at the half. Binghamton's Nick Madray made two straight 3-pointers to pull to 50-47 with 14:39 remaining. The Quakers pulled away again until Dusan Pervoic drove for a layup and Yosef Yacob added two free throws to close to 69-66 with 5:36 left. Hicks and Nelson-Henry answered with a layup apiece to stretch the lead to 73-66.

Penn grabbed 43 rebounds while limiting the Bearcats to 30 boards.

Antonio Woods and Darnell Foreman had 11 points apiece and Matt Howard chipped in 10 for Penn (2-5). The Quakers also picked up 24 points in the paint, compared to 12 for Binghamton (1-8).

Perovic had 16 points and Willie Rodriguez added 13 for the Bearcats.
