Bryce Harper drove in his first big league run with an eighth-inning RBI single and the Washington Nationals beat the New York Yankees 10-8 on Saturday.

Harper, taken first overall in last June's draft and given a $9.9 million, five-year contract, went 1 for 2. He grounded out in his first at-bat, in the seventh.

The 18-year old, who grew up a Yankees' fan, played against New York for the first time. Harper has two hits in 10 at-bats overall.

New York ace CC Sabathia struggled in his second spring training start, allowing five runs and six hits over 2 2-3 innings. The left-hander walked two and struck out one. He threw just 28 of 53 pitches for strikes.
