Wesley Dunning scored the first six points of overtime for Hampton in a 70-66 win over Delaware State on Saturday night.

The Pirates (16-5, 6-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) outscored the Hornets 13-9 in the extra period, starting with Dunnings' points, which were his only tallies of the game.

Hampton, which used a 12-3 run to take a 52-48 lead, led 56-50 with 1:52 left in regulation. The Hornets scored seven straight to go up 57-56 with 31 seconds remaining in regulation. Darrion Pellum made one of his two free throws with 15 seconds left to force overtime.

Pellum finished with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Charles Funches grabbed 10 rebounds and Brandon Tunnell had nine assists for the Pirates.

Casey Walker led the Hornets (8-11, 4-3) with 25 points and Desi Washington added 12. Marques Oliver had a double-double for Delaware State with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
