Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and Tennessee Titans kick returner Darius Reynaud have been named the AFC's top players for the month of September.

Green, a second-year pro out of Georgia, earned offensive recognition for compiling an AFC-leading 27 catches for 428 yards and three touchdowns last month, helping the Bengals to a 3-1 record. In a Week 3 win over Washington, he had nine catches for a career-best 183 yards, including a career-long 73- yard touchdown reception.

Watt, in his second year out of Wisconsin, earned defensive honors for registering 20 tackles, 7 1/2 sacks, two fumble recoveries and five passes defensed in four games with the Texans, helping his team to a 4-0 start to the season. During a 31-25 win at Denver in Week 3, Watt alone had seven tackles and a career-high 2 1/2 sacks.

Reynaud was recognized for his superb special teams play last month, having returned 15 kickoffs for 408 yards (27.2 average) during the month, including a 105-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a 44-41 overtime win against Detroit. In that game, Reynaud was also instrumental in another scoring play, when he fielded Ben Graham's punt and threw a backward pass across the field to Tommie Campbell, who raced 65 yards for a touchdown.
