Amateur Oliver Goss fired a 6- under 66 on Sunday and then beat fellow amateur Brady Watt in a 5-hole playoff to win the John Hughes Geely/Nexus Risk Services WA Open.

Watt posted a 4-under 68 in the final round and the two amateurs ended at 16- under-par 272.

Goss had an eagle attempt on the final hole of regulation, but it came up short. Both players birdied the last to head to the extra session.

The pair matched birdies on the par-5 18th twice. They both parred the par-4 eighth the two times it was played. Finally on the fifth playoff, Goss downed Watt for his first win on the Australian Tour.

Brett Rumford closed with a 65 to take third at minus-14, while Rohan Blizard (67) and Ashley Hall (69) shared fourth at 13-under 275.
